MINIMALIST CLEANING ROUTINE
Decluttering and cleaning is a huge part of leading a minimalist lifestyle, but these tasks could be tiring and time-consuming, which is ironic in leading a minimalist life. So how do you simplify your cleaning routine such that you are able to enjoy the best of both worlds? Here are some tips for you.
1. Daily Tasks
There are some tasks that are easy to complete on the spot instead of waiting for it to accumulate throughout the week. Some of these tasks include cleaning your countertops, washing your dishes, and sorting your mail. Tackling these tasks right as you get them allows you to spend a lesser amount of time each day, and removes the stress of knowing that you have a tonne of cleaning tasks to do at the week. It also allows you to live in a cleaner environment, making your home as comfortable as it could be.
2. Clean As You Go
If you lead a busy lifestyle, it could be easy to leave your house in a mess as you go about your day. This results in an unnecessary increase in cleaning time when you could just clean as you go! What we mean by this is to return the environment to its original condition before you used the space. For instance, you could wipe up water splashes on the bathroom countertop right after you use the basin or put the television remote back into the remote holder right after you use it. These are small and brainless tasks that you could do on the go that would greatly reduce the amount of mess you create throughout the week.
3. Weekly Cleaning
You could bunch tasks up that take a longer time to complete for the end of the week. You could accumulate dirty laundry in a basket and wash it all at the end of the week. This would not only help you save time, but is also more eco-friendly as you use less water. Sweeping, dusting, and mopping are also time-consuming tasks that could be done at the end of the week or every few days. You should also change out your bedsheets on a weekly basis as dirt could accumulate there easily.
Level up your cleaning routine with these tips to make your cleaning as easy and efficient as possible so that you have more time for the things that truly matter such as your family.
